Wish I could help but that hasn't happened to me, in 6 months of
playing the game.  There was some discussion about this awhile ago in
RAS, so you might want to search Deja.

Have you found GTR .aiw files for the non-GT/F1 tracks?  I'd like to
try out Sebring, Portland, etc but without having a proper .aiw file
it's kinda pointless.

Do FIA GT cars use launch control?  I use clutch assistance since I
don't have a pedal so I usually just pop it into first from high revs
in neutral.  The AI cars are so slow off the line you'd probably be a
ble to pass the entire field going into T1 with LC.

Speaking of which, I wish there were a way to get GPL/N2002 clutch
functionality in GTR.  If you enable clutch help the game stops
recognizing your clutch key, so you can't pop the clutch when it's
needed.  I wish Act Labs made a non-FF wheel because it's about time I
got a nice 3-pedal/6-speed setup.

Thx, Jason,

Strange things happening here like the game is haunted!  Not only are my
choices arbitrarily changed, someONE or someTHING is even editing the
REMarks in the text files!  Spooky.

(And, no, changing the .plr file to R/O just means the game won't load.
Grrrrrr.)

Do you have a good source of .aiw files?

This is the home of the SSM Le Mans mod.  Which will be going through a
major update soon.  With a 4 timezone Le Man track, the 2002 configuration,
the inclusion of the LMP and GT cars to add to the current release of GTS
cars...so they have a pretty full plate.
CJ has, however, done updated aiw and loading files for each of the
Nascar Thunder tracks. You can probably drop the Indianapolis files into
indy oval.  That will require some renaming, once that is done, I would
guess it should be fairly transparent to swap out.

you didn't get one with GTR2002?  anyway, if you're looking for
realistic FIA GT Race lengths, I think you can forget it.  they do
time-limited races.  mostly four hours, iirc.

You can fix that in the config files by setting the race length to a
ridiculous number of laps, say 4 hours, and then setting the race
session time limit to 4 hours.  I dunno how high the limit goes, but I
ran a 100% race at Magny Cours in monsoon conditions and had it end
about 3 laps from the end because by default it still uses the 2 hour
race session limit.
