Papyrus CART Racing package (which includes the Rendition version, as
well as DOS and Win95), but that you can find a Rendition version of
the executable (the Cyrix patch) and use it with the Rendition tracks
available (actually patches to convert DOS tracks to Rendition, IIRC).
The Cyrix "patch" is actually the Rendition version of the Indycar
executable. There may be an accessory file that you have to hunt up
as well (speedy3D?, which is also available in NASCAR2). A while back
(late '96 or so) this info was available here on RAS (do a Deja News
search) or it might still be available on some older ICR2 web pages.
Also, not said but definitely true: you need a Rendition video card
to be able to run the Rendition version. These include Intergraph
Intense 3D, Creative Labs 3D Blaster PCI (both V1000), Diamond Stealth
S220 (V2100), and Hercules Thriller 3D (V2200). The higher the
Rendition chipset number (Vxxxx), the better performance and the
higher the cost, although I've heard of the top of the line Thriller
(8 meg) going for under $100.
A Rendition card will run Rendition programs or MS Direct 3D in 3D
mode, or almost anything else in 2D mode. (But no Voodoo / 3Dfx /
Glide -- you need a 3Dfx add-on card for that.)
