Guillemot Racing Wheel...

It`s difficult to say, I have only tested the MSFF wheel apart from mine ,and compared with the MSFF wheel it`s VERY good (In GPL). The gear-shift levers and the pedals is good (It supports split axis with drivers from I-Force) It`s made of plastic ,so it feels a little cheap ,but I have used it for one year and it`s still unbroken.

Guillemot Racing Wheel...

Its a very nice wheel. There are some QC issues with Gmot, however, so be prepared to make pop off the cover to adjust the trimmer or return the wheel for a replacement if needed. Not to say they all have problems. But a nice wheel.

Oh and..... BTW...... the gentleman who requested the information is a friend of mine from leagues past. I CERTAINLY would NOPT recommend this wheel to him knowing that he would INSTANTLY notice the pathetic resolution and wimpy FF effects (I mean even in subtle effects).

Perhaps I have a personal stake in this particular thread since I hold my friends close.... so Oli... DON'T BOTHER DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!! take it from your friend who has ripped it apart in every aspect.

Cheers,

Your friend,

Shumi

Guillemot Racing Wheel...

I  wouldn't mind you hammering on all the other wheels so much if you actually had a product that was better. If you come out with a good wheel and can actually deliver it (PDPI ?) without getting sidetracked on some other project, I'll be in line for it with the rest of the drivers. Right now you have nothing except insults. I guess we're all stupid for buying a wheel that your company didn't make, but I didn't know you were making one and wouldn't have waited 5 months on the hopes that the wheel will actually be produced and be good. Your remarks about resolution and weak FF effects are generalized, not specific. I personally find that the Ferrari wheel goes where I point it. And with the new FF settings in GPL we certainly know now that it will produce all the force anyone could want, at least in that game. I'm not saying there aren't things I would change in it, but it's a good wheel and better than most. The best I can figure, the actual resolution is between 115 and 120 (not that it matters as long as it goes where I want it to), but should you have all kinds of tools and info at your disposal, so why not do something constructive, like tell me where I can find a program (or something) that will measure the resolution more accurately. Is there any wheel that (un-aided) will produce more than 128?
You're in a position to help us out. It would go over much better than insults.

Guillemot Racing Wheel...

by The Dij » Sat, 29 Jan 2000 04:00:00

I totally agree with you GTX!

The Ferrariwheel is very precise. I prefer it over the Logitech. And it can
only get better with new drivers.

About the resolution, technicall stuff which doesn't REALLY matter. The
Logitech's resolution is FAR worse than the Guillemots resolution, but
nobody complains about the Logitech...

So the resolution is neat to know, but that's where it ends. For the
Ferrariwheel the resolution is good enough to make it a VERY precise wheel.
