200.5 qual with plate on is what is needed.

There's some bug that makes it so that the very first lap is ungodly fast when
online racing...

I can qual at 200 or 201 mph offline (in 70 deg. weather too).

LOL, my "track record" at Dega is 1013.54 mph or something in that general
category. Oh, and for the person who said that 200's are possible in
qualifying, I've qualified twice wtih a 200 using the DEFAULT qual setup, and
out of the box settings (online though, depends what the host has changed.)
Plate was ON. The track's just that much faster. Tonight, I had a 200.124 or
something like that and I qualified 4th out of 30 or so. So, it works.

Online, or Off?  I'm assuming on.

I just did a personal best 199.118 lap at 'Dega, 70 degs, no wind, default
QUAL setup.  I had a slower time before, and the difference in lap times was
the line I drove in this one gave me better entries into the corners (I.E.,
minimizing tire squeal).  I also tried to stay at or just a tick above the
line at the bottom all the way around the corner.

Looks like I'll need to do more practicing, eh? :)

I avoid this when running alone.  With my setup, it scrubs off too much speed.
