GP2 Versus Playstation F1

I have just got a copy of formula 1 for the playstation, I also have
gp2 on my P166+,

I am very dissappointed with the sony game playing it straight after
the PC version, it does not come close to it in my opinion.

Perhaps I was expecting to much of the playstation after all the hype
about it but I guess the playstation is just a game where as GP2 is a
sim.

Any comments from anyone who has played them both?

Well I agree, although I do treat the Sony game as that, just an arcade
game ( with some occasional sim type handling). But that isnt't to say it
is bad, on the contrary, I really enjoy the speed buzz you get from F1 and
the update and detail are superb. So if your lucky to own both GP2 and F1,
then enjoy them both, for their differences, because they are VERY
different.

Congrats to Psygnosis (and their development team), for a fun and
intersting game

I played F1 on a friends machine. It sucked! Okay, the voice over was very
nice (commentary during a race!) but the gameplay is appaling! And the
graphics terrible! If you like playing arcade style games, then may I
recommend Road Rash or Wipeout, but leave this piece of rubbish in the shops!

I've been informed that there is no lap counter or fuel counter in Psy's
F1.  My question is in a full length race how do you know when to pit
for fuel?

I agree. You can't beat the PSX game for a quick blast. However,
for the full "anorak effect", GP2 on a decent Pentium cannot be topped.

My advice:

Strapped for cash. Not got a PC. Get a PSX and Formula One.

Strapped for cash. Got a ***PC. Sell your PC and get a PSX
and Formula One.

Got a bit of spare cash. Got a ***PC. Get a PSX and Formula
One.

Got loads of money. Get 'em both.

Got millions of pounds (or dollars or whatever). Start your own
F1 GP team. Thats what I did!

Yeah, Jackie babes, but they're not gonna let you drive.  Or didn't they tell
you that bit yet?

But here's my far more useful advice in just three words:  Hire Derek Higgins.
