HAWAII: Tips for improvements

HAWAII: Tips for improvements

by Doug Reichl » Tue, 30 Apr 1996 04:00:00

I was able to connect tonight with absolutely no problems.  Well, one
time going into Martinsville it gave me a red posting, but I tried it
right away again and it went straight in.

I raced at Michigan and Martinsville.

Here are a few things I think would improve the game:

1) If we have spotters now, why don't they tell me that the leaders are
coming up behind me.  Yes, I have mirrors, but to know if it's the
leaders or not is unknown until they get beside me and I can see decals
or a number (or, of course, the approaching speed ;).

This may just be me needing more experience, but it would be a nice
feature anyway.  It would take the guess work out it.

That's it.  Everything else worked so good that I don't have any complaints.

PS - I did about as expected at Michigan (7 of 13), but I got lapped 7
times at Marty because I pitted for damage.

Pull up the F2 screen. Press the shift key. This tells you exactly who's on
your tail and how far behind they are. It also works very well for avoiding
wreckage on the superspeedways. Watch the split times and if the split
times of a car ahead of you start dropping quickly, get out of the gas so
you've got some traction budget to steer around the wreckage.

bothersome while you are racing to look away from the track to read each line of text to
see if it is a warning about a wreck or just chat between people who have already
wrecked.  Thanks   Josh Carr-IVGA   Go#3!!!!!!

I must've hit SHIFT accidently, and I didn't know how to get out of that...
I was WONDERING how I got there... :)

It would also be nice to have an option to not display the chat, leaving
only the spotter text.
