Thank you TS and your puter is really close to mine!! That is weird..lol
I too have an Intel P3 800mhz cpu with the GF2'GTS'Pro, SbLive and
a AbitSA6R-mobo with 256megs of PC133Dram..
Thom_j.

| On 800mhz cpu, G-force 2, and soundblaster live I guess about
| 4-5 fps on average in a pack of cars, from 35 to 30. But with 3d-sound
| on I get fps-drops down to 8-10 sometimes, mostly after a few laps.

Hmm, I don't see that big a difference with 3d sound enabled with my Live
card.

Some people do nothing wrong.
The problem is, they do nothing.
And THAT is wrong.

You dont Don? Really? Wow.. I use 4 big Labtec speakers & 2 SubWoofers.
When I race a full race of 20or more online/off I can hear
front-back-left-right
cars zooming all around me in 3D. It's great! I asked about the 'fps'
advantage
when shutting them off just to see if I was losing alot but I am not..
Even if you get 4 little speakers & put them around you, you should hear
it!!
Cheers Thom_j.

I am sorry, I should have been more specific. I hear a huge difference, I
run the Klispch Pro Media's and the sound is absolutely fantastic. 3d is
definitely the only way to go with the Live card and these 4 speakers/sub.
What I was referring to, was I did not see the big framerate difference when
running with 3d sound versus without 3d sound enabled.

Maybe there is somethings wrong here. 3d-sound makes my N4 unplayable.
But I got only 2 speakers, so never mind.

I am using the old original 3D Prophet 32Mb DDR-DVI card.

With 35 cars ahead, 3 behind and real world detail to full with 70% draw

grandstands and etc with a full field.  During a normal race and all the
cards spread out a little, I get 50fps average.

I wonder what a good GF2 or 3 card will do?
