Folks,
I live in Gibsonia, PA north of Pittsburgh in the (412) 449/443/444
exchange of North Pittsburgh Telephone Company (NPTCO). My current ISP,
USA OnRamp, is not up to par for racing on NROS. I have at least 10
hops to the nearest TEN arena and the latency is pretty bad. I can get
a good connection when the load on TEN and the NET is low, but forget it
when the load is high (any evening).
I was told by TEN to go through a national ISP, like MindSpring, Netcom
or Concentric. The problem is that the closest # for any of them is IN
Pittsburgh, which is a toll call for me. The following is a list of
local providers that have a local # for me. Anyone with any experience
with them, please respond!
1. Nauticom
2. Salsgiver
3. FYI Networks
4. The National Business Network - localconnect
5. Pittsburgh Online
Thanks and Best Regards,
D_R on TEN
