SBK - Controllers

by Rob Adla » Wed, 28 Apr 1999 04:00:00

Thanks to everyone who helped me with advice about controllers for
Superbike World Championship.
Eventually I settled on the purchase of a MS Sidewinder Freestyle Pro
gamepad. As I was advised I have found it very sensitive. Is there any other
way to alter the sensitivity of the device apart from through the Sidewinder
Profile Editor? Changing the settings through this doesn't seem to change
much! :)
Any tips on getting the 'hang' of this sensitive gamepad would be very
welcome. TIA. E-mail or newsgroups is fine.
Maybe I just need more practice! :))

Issue: How to master SBK with MS Freestyle

1. Adjust the "Range of Motion" to the Max. Notice that full throttle
and brake then require a lot of twist-of-the-wrist.
2. Do not rest your arms on anything, keep them in the air
3. Practise
4. Practise more
5. Decrease the "Range of Motion" gradually

PS. Be also sure that you really are using the SideWinder profile you
just edited. The setup is a little confusing.
