What is the best controller setup for a motorcycle game like SBK?

Right now I'm using a ForceFX joysitck, but it seems to be too
difficult to get the accelerator, brake, and gears all with one hand.

What is the best setup for this?

Ideas?

I find a wheel works better for me. The only other option is to buy a
dedicated bike controller (Ducatti) or use a gamepad (never!).

You can use the joystick for steering only and add a set of CH pedals for
throttle and brake. Not entirely realistic, but functional.

I found the best setup was my old TM GP1 wheel with the analog paddles for
gas and brake, and the thumb buttons (or auto) for shifting.  I also used
DXTweak to adjust the wheel's range so that my wheel's tilt matched the
bike's.  With that setup, I could really get immersed in riding the virtual
bike, and I rode real ones for years.  Maybe it's that Honda's old Odyssey
buggies had the same controller setup. ;-)

Today, I think TM has a cheap wheel (Sprint?) with paddles for gas and
brake, and Saitek just announced a new similar model, the R80.  CompUSA had
some too, based on the excellent-for-the-bucks CH EXL 500, but I think
they're history.

Cheers,

Steve B.
