N3 Trucks Sales Method. Not Papy's Fault

Fellow Papyrus Fans,

It's not Papyrus that is forcing the sale of the Truck Pack via Mail Order.
It's Sierra.  Let them hear you!

Complain to Sierra on their customer support url:

address from the HTML source.

Here is what I sent them.

Dean.

------------------------------------

Dear Sierra,

I would like to lodge a complaint in regards to the way you are handling
sales of the Craftsman Truck Expansion pack by Papyrus.  I realize that you
believe that it is smart business to not offer the CTS Expansion pack for N3
in retail stores, but I believe you are making a grave mistake.  Forcing me
to by the Acceleration pack in retails stores is absurd!  I already own
Nascar 3 and Nascar Legend, and for that matter, every title that Papyrus
has ever produced.  I live in Canada, and by the time I pay the exchange
rate, the shipping charges and the duty, it is almost the same cost as
buying a full blown software package.  The reason that the CTS Pack for N2
flopped is because you first released NR1999, which I didn't need to buy
because I already owned Nascar 2, and the Busch Expansion pack for Nascar 2.
But I bought it anyway.  Then when the CTS pack came out for Nascar 2 there
was no reason to purchase it because I already owned NR1999.  I am betting
that most of the loyal Papyrus customers did the same thing.  So yes, no
wonder the CTS Pack for Nascar 2 failed.

The CTS Expansion Pack for Nascar 3 is a different story, so treating it the
same as the CTS Pack for Nascar 2 is ridiculous.  Come on Sierra, please
ship the CTS Expansion pack to retails stores (in Canada as well) and it
will sell.  Selling it through mail order is only angering the SIM
community, and the Papyrus loyalist, and inviting piracy of the title, which
Papyru does not deserve.

Papyrus deserves what it gets. The curve has moved on. What they would
have gotten on the shelves is a sport utility vehicle racing game.
Pickup trucks are passe, Dean. Get with it, man.

Jeff, you're not SERIOUS, right?  Myself and LOT of other blokes are
anxiously biting our nails for a reliable method of getting this title
without paying $50.

No I'm not serious but it almost seems true. I see that there is
really a sport utility race game coming out... not by Papyrus but
by the company that produced Microsoft's Cart Precision Racing.
Sad but true.

I don't understand why there is no release of the truck package to
stores....

    Good. <g>

I underSTAND it, I just don't AGREE with it!!  I, too, think they looked
at their sales of the N99 trucks and just assumed these would sell that
poorly, too.  Problem is, they're obviously not thinking with a clear enough
head to realize that an ADDon will sell differently than a stand-alone
product.  Just about ANY of us with ANY interest in the trucks would pay $20
to get a truck addon, but not hardly ANYBODY (MYSELF included) would pay
$30-40 for stand-alone truck program!  This time, they programmed it, but
SOLD it wrong.  Last time time they programmed it wrong, but sold it RIGHT!
lol.
    Idiots in suits....
