A matter of taste... I actually like Hungaroring, spent the last
night running on it first with GP2, and then (yes!) F1GP1. I was
only practising so the appalling GP1 AI was not there to take my
attention from the similarities between the two versions. GP1 is
more slippery and a bit harder to steer (all helps and aids were
off in both games),  but braking is easier and the graphics are
actually very functional after the flashy GP2 stuff..

Must be a weirdo, I enjoy playing ICR1 too, after long sessions
of ICR2. A form of relaxation after hard racing :)

I used to love Imola in F1GP and never had a problem with Aqua
Minerale. It was that damned Variante Alfa that always caught me
out...

I like Pacific as well but I seem to have a problem with the rear
always stepping out at Hobbs..

I guess Jerez might be a problem for many people due to a lack of
circuit knowledge.

Nope, my current fave!

I'm not sure why, but I just ran two 100% races there, with a 1:23.7xx
in race trim, and a 1:22.1xx in qualifying. Great track, with a lot of
delicate throttle control required, precise apexing and one of the
tracks where you gain time by using the kerbs :) Love it!

Cheers!

Me too, I`ve tried various setups but nothing solves the problem, the
best way to take it is in 2nd without touching the accelerator.

After trying to come to grips with Montreal for a 100% champ. race,
my vote tenatively goes to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.  In F1GP I could
take the series of corners after the Island Hairpin flat out.  In GP2
I take it in either 4th or 5th and the front end of the car does
not want to turn.  As a consequence, I get a truly hairy series
of long skips through the bend.  Magny Cours is next and I'm a little
nervous about that first long sweeping high speed turn.  Now i've
also got to worry about gravel outside the bend.  Fun, fun, fun!

The Jerez layout is quite interesting, but I don't like the
turn between Curva Peluqui and Curva Ayrton Senna.  It removes
quite effectively potentially interesting fast turn (Senna) and
good overtaking spot in the Curva Ducados hairpin.

My favorites are Montreal, Spa and Suzuka.  I think Spa doesn't
need any comments.  I even like the bus stop chicane, which I
used to hate in F1GP.  The phrase "Eau Rouge separates men from boys"
finally means something in GP2 (when driving without helps)...

Montreal and Suzuka have quite similar feel into them.  Fast
straights with high speed left and right combinations.  Also
most of slow turns are nice.  My only bigger complaint is
Suzuka's Casio chicane.  The track would be almost perfect
without it.

BTW: If Microprose would only release "classic tracks" add-on for
GP2.  No need for "classic 70's driving model", but I'd love to
take a tour in the old Nurburgring (Nordschleife), figure 8 Monza
with superspeedway section, Brooklands, the old fast Silverstone,
Zandvoort, South Africa (track name escapes from my mind) or even
Long Beach street course - not really a big classic, but fun track;-)

I was pissed off that Phoenix was missing from the 1994 season (and
hence GP2). I used to love that twisty little track. It`s similar to
Monaco but a lot more forgiving.

South Africa's GP track is called `Kyalami', which means `my home' in Zulu. The new
track is a poor shadow of the former layout, which was last raced on by F1 cars in
1985 (winner: Mansell). I agree that the old track was a real classic - it had a
massive, wide main straight on which the GP cars were flat out for its entire 2km
length, culminating in a >90 deg corner. It also had beatiful gradient, equivalent
to Interlagos, with a breathtaking sweep on the back straight. When I was a toddler
I watched the likes of Graham Hill, Jim Clark and Jackie Stewart race it: fantastic
memories.

The South African Track is Kyalami. The old track was AWESOME, and unfortunatly
due a couple of capitalist pigs!! we lost it and now have a techinical and twisty
unchallenging NEW Kyalami.

Ahhhhhh - Zandvoort! Tarzan!! :)

Now this I like! While we're on the subject, I would like Brands Hatch,
Watkins Glen (the F1 track with the parts missing from NASCAR), Paul
Ricard, Jacarapagua and, of course, the Osterreichring!

More tracks with long fast corners, sweeping curves, and the classic
"looooooong straight followed by hairpin" - Tarzan is a perfect section
of track.

Cheers!

Think how pissed off us people are that live in the Phoenix area. Now
the only way we can see a F1 race "live" is to get up at 4AM and watch
it on ESPN2 cable.

Heh, same here. Phoenix was the track I was best at on GP1. Partly
because it was first in the championship season so I ended up driving it
a LOT.  Probally the only track that I know off by heart, although Brazil
and Monaco come close with reguards to me knowing the track.
But it makes perfect sense for it not to be inlcuded seeing how Phoenix
hasn't been run on for years.

And what about Donnington? IMHO the best cuircuit in Britain, the home of
motor racing. I think also, Brands Hatch has a good call here, that drive
upto to the hairpin from the main straight just has to be seen.

Don't forget the old Spa-course, Le Mans or Isle of Man :)
