Wheel + World Circuits?

To people with steering wheels & World Circuits:

I am curently building a steering wheel/pedals controls. I have
the World Circuits game and i have done some "preliminary" tests with
it. The results are not so great. When i turn steering help off
(the main reason for using a steering wheel: to get off the grip of
steering help) the car is just uncontrolable.

I have tried different settings for max lock/linear/non-linear joystick
but when i can control the car in straits (max lock very low) i can't
turn on tight corners. And when i can turn fast (max lock > 8) i can't
control the car (i look like a drunk driver trying to follow the line :) ).

So my question to you is:

is the car controlable with YOUR wheel (and steering help off) ?

If you answer yes i'll just try to improve on my design and have the
most precise wheel i can build (altough it is quite accurate as it is right
now), or maybe i need more practice?. If no, well i'll probably turn
steering help on and/or go buy IndyCar (which is reported to be more
realistic on controls).

Is your wheel controlling a linear axis?  By that I mean is it only travelling
in two directions like a slide or rotary switch, or does it travel through two
direction, like a joystick?

Well, I have the T1 from Thrustmasters and can't control the car at all
when the steering help is off.  So I have to leave it on.

Not Uncontrolable, but definately Unrealistic, and Squirley....With
Steering Help-Off, I can come within about 2 seconds of my fast lap times,
but not any closer than that.  I run with Help - Off,  Non Linear, and 11
Deg. of lock, and I use a Virtual Pilot Yoke, and Maxx Pedals.

--- Cool, how do you find the Maxx Pedals?  I as well have the V.Pilot but
looking for some floor model compliment to it.  I see CH-Products has or soon
will be selling their pedals (Chips n' Bits ad for them anyway - $85).
Are the Maxx pedals "in-out with tension" type or do you press one and the
other raises until you press it down?  Do they auto-center?  Appearently
the CH-ones will have a switch for flight-sim (free motion rudders) or
the tension-type feel for race games (pedals bounce back when released)?
Thsi is what I understand.

Any help/tips/advice would be appreciated

I've had them for 4 years...so I do not know where to get them anymore,
however they are about $35.00 U.S. and they work Very well.   They are not
independant....One goes up, and the other goes down...each pedal has it's
own Spring and they provide good feel and throttle-brake control.

The pedals are made by the same Company that makes Maxx Yokes

I have the trustmaster wheel and pedals which is real nice for racing
IMO. Both pedals are independant of each of other, so you can hold down
the gas pedals while tapping the brake when watching cars. I race alot
better with, more real feel to them. And the wheel has nice tension to
it, recenters it self.
