Hi

Can anyone point me to a half-decent setup for this track?  My setups just
don't seem to cut the mustard (1:24.324 !!!!  - ugh!)

TIA

Head to Ian Bell's setups, he has 2 car setup-packs (zips) at the
bottom of this page:

Thanks, but I already checked there - not a Monaco setup in sight.  He's got
setups for every other track - maybe he finds it as difficult to make a
Monaco setup as I do.... : (

Also, the review of F12001 post-patch on www.simbin.com talks about a
problem that F12001 has with mechanical grip at low speed.  The review
claims that the makers have compensated for the problem by having stronger
downforce.  The effect of this is that there is very little grip in slow
corners and too much grip in high speed corners.  For example, the 'Waite'
chichane at Australia can be taken easily in 7th gear whereas it should be a
5th gear corner.  The review uses the first corner at Suzuka as another
example.  It may be that Monaco is virtually undriveable until patch#2 or
even f12002!!  The good news is that the developers seem to be listening to
the community.  It would be good if ISI would hire Ian Bell as a consultant
though... ; )

That's what I said here in a thread two weeks ago. I love the sim, but
something just seems off, and hopefully it's just a matter of tweaking some
of the numbers.

BTW, I agree with not only his view on the physics, but just about
everything he says in the review.

Ditto.  He really hit the nail on the head IMO.
