Ian Lake - A.Hine's setups

When Ian posted that he'd got a 1.25 at Monaco using the Alison Hine setups
I could hardly believe it - I'd been really struggling to get below the
1.29's. Go and see his stunning lap at

http://www.racesimcentral.net/~estori85/index.html

His hotlap is all the better for some incredibly smooth driving considering
how right on the limit he is. Notice the gear ratios are  high compared with
others you may have seen - presumably the Lotus's midrange acceleration
doesn't require particularly close ratios.

Congratulations Ian!

Yes, as you noticed, I only use the first 4 gears. Monaco is a circuit
where I believe 5th is unneccessary, and trying to drive it with 5
gears is overdriving the circuit and the car.

Also, the understeer is essential at monaco. And especially for a race
situation. The understeer forces good lines, and you have to drive
accurately. And this often means you can actually finish the race
without crashing :o))))

Thanks :))))
