Colin McRae Rally...Is everything semi-transparent???

Hi everybody...

Is it just me and my PC, or does everything (cars, trees, bushes) seem
to be transparent in the Colin McRae demo???

Yeah, I got that running on my voodoo2, although it doesn't appear to be
using any of the Voodoo2s features. Supposedly a better demo is round the
corner and who knows the game might be out before xmas  !!

Apparently, the 9th or 10th is the UK release date. Yeah, I got
semi-transparent objects with my Voodoo2 as well. Someone here rumoured that
a better demo would be posted somewhere on the Codies site sometime soon,
www.codemasters.com.

When I first installed the demo, I, too, got the semi-transaprent thing
(Mystique 220 & Monster II + DirectX 5) after upgrading(?) to DirectX 6
I got solid objects.  I used Default Card setting - I tried other
settings (can't remember which) but then I didn't get the mud-splatter
effects & lens flares (I'm now assuming this is my Mystique, rather than
the 3Dfx card, which is running the game.  Please give us 3Dfx support
Codemasters!!

Let's install DirectX6. It will make solid all objects.

Try running it with DirectX 6 installed.  It worked for me.

Went to PC-World (City Branch), Dixons, *** Megastore, Electronics Boutique and HMV
(all on Oxford St.)on the 2nd October and none had it and none knew when it would be
out. :-( The Codies site says the 9th. Here's hoping :-)

Yes DirectX 6 fixed it. I was reluctant to install DirectX 6 in case it took
out TOCA1 which I'd heard it did, but Monaco Racing install DX6 for me and
now CMR works and so does TOCA1. Monaco Racing, unfortunately doesn't, the
track is light blue and many of the other colours are badly wrong. It's
unplayable :-(
