George,

I use a small utility called D3D control center to force my system to make
my TNT card the primary card for D3D , I find that the colors are much
better and some of the effects are also better.
I can't give you the source of this little appl. as I am at work and it's at
home where I use it.

Have a search for it or otherwise post a reply and i'll am happy to post it
here. From memory it's only about 30 or 40 K in size.

Doesn't N3 support both D3D and Glide? If so, the device should be
selectable within the game. Just look for it in graphics options ...

There was a control panel update for the 3Dfx card found on their website.
It is only one file that you put in your Windows/System folder.  It just
gives you extra options in their control panell utility.
If you need this file.. I'm sure it won't be a problem to post it up on
here.  It's very small.

You don't need to do that to select which D3D card N3 uses, there is
an n3.ini option you can add "RAST_SELECT n", where n=0 uses the first
D3D
card it finds (usually your TNT), and n=1 selects the next one (your
3DFX).
By default the game picks the last D3D card it finds. I think that was
mentioned in the readme.
