If GP2 uses a DOS extender, thats the problem. DOS extenders, EMM385,
and HIMEM don't get along with one another. Boot up into DOS mode
without EMM386 and HIMEM. The same thing goes for ICR2 or NASCAR. If
you have a memory manager loaded while running ICR2 or NASCAR, there
is a chance that they will crash, resulting in f's and hex numbers.

At least for me.  Running  GP2 out of Win95 with a P133, 32Mb ram, 2Mb
Stealth Vram.
Whenever I try to save a hot lap, the game crashes...a bunch of
"fffff" and other hex numbers suddenly scroll down the screen and I'm
back in Win95.
Any suggestions? (other than calling tech support).

I think someone else reported this problem a while ago. The solution
is to reboot in DOS mode.

Stop running under Win95! I've seen a number of reports on this one,
but if you really, really must use Win95, I think if you add more
memory to the DOS session it will help.

I need a little help to install my video card. I have a Packard Bell
P 60 with 16 megs of RAM and Win95. The problem is that the computer
will freeze when I go to windows. The card works in Dos but as soon as
I exit to windows and get to the opening screen it will freeze. I can
enter windows through the "safe-mode" but Win95 will not recognize new
hardware in the "safe-mode". I tried loading the drivers in the
"safe-mode", but when I restart my computer it will boot up with an
error message. I believe it was "Windows protection error #06.
  Thank you for any responses

Alan,

Did you change your video driver to vga BEFORE you exited windows95 and
installed the card? I would recommend the following:

Take out the Herc 128 and put your old card in.
Hopefully it will see that and Windows 95 will come up.
Change your video driver to standard VGA. (should be in instructions)
shut down windows, your computer and reinstall the Herc card
Windows should now come up in standard VGA mode, see the card and prompt
you for the drivers. After it builds the driver database, choose NO to
NOT restart the machine and then load the rest of the Herc software. It
will then reboot and set you up.

I have it running real well on my machine.  By the way, there was a BIOS
update and there are new drivers for the card. Go to www.hercules.com

Run from DOS
