USB - Converter possibility?

by -ice » Sun, 07 Feb 1999 04:00:00

Has anyone heard of work being done on an analog-to-digital USB
converter box? As some controllers seem to have seperate modes
selectable I would *think* the possibility is there. I jumped on the
USB bandwagon when, with my MS Wheel plugged into my SB Live port, I
decided I felt like doing some flying. I grabbed a spare MS Precision
Pro (with Jstick port-to-USB adapter cable attached) and just plugged
it in with the machine running. Win98 saw it instantly and it worked.
It actually seemed to function better than it did in the SB Live port,
but thats subjective..  Now I want ALL USB controllers. I'm going to
try to plug the MS Wheel in using the adapter, and though I assume FF
will die (I think its hokey anyway), as long as resistance stays I
will be a happy guy! Of course, it may not work at all.....
