Great little prog Tom Thanks.  :-) Actually Its not really even a program,
just a dll and a registry change. Very handy.

Don't listen to the cry babies that are going to remind you that "Posting
binaries is not acceptable here, You have eaten 4.86kb of my precious
bandwidth... blah blah BLAH...."   :-)

Maybe so, maybe not. But I can tell you THIS: I'm not kissing Tom Pabst for
ANYTHING.

I've seen pictures: ewwww!  ;-)

<snip>

...except that cis.dfn.de, which is ***y important to a lot of
people, at least in Europe, filters out *all* binaries, so none of us
got it. Worse, they've said in the past that they'll stop carrying
groups if even a small amount of binary posting becomes the norm. So
please, like Jan says - put it on a website or something...!

Hi Tom,

You could post it on http://rt.relaygames.com to have downloaded, no
problemo. Just click on Contribute, and throw 'er in the Miscellaneous
section.

Just a though/solution for the cry babies. My ISP filtered it out as well,
so I can't get it, and like you I HATE when my icons get rearranged.... so I
have personal interest in this program.

Cheers,
Schumi

Hey Guys.....

I see they filtered that huge.....4kb file from attachment.  I haven't time
to post this to my website at the moment.......so anyone who wants it...just
email me quickly.  I'll attach it to the reply.  I'll post this on my
website, then provide a "link" here.....later tonight.

Sorry...for those that were looking for the attachment.  I guess I didn't
think a 4kb attachment....especially as good as this little gem of a program
is....and how many of us could/would use it......would pose a problem!  No
wonder USENET is dying off....for the "forum" format that is so much more
flexible and useful.

Thanks, Tom!

Speaking of essential utils, does anybody know where I can find one that
will display HD activity as a flashing light in my SysTray so I don't have
to keep looking under my desk.  Seems so simple, so obvious....

And another essential tweak: Anybody know how to eliminate all those
interminable Windows wait/pause states?  I must waste 20 min. a day while
Windows ponders such weighty matters as, "Hmmmn, I wonder if there's still
anybody connected to the LAN?" or "I wonder if the FDU *really* wants to
shut down?"

Serendipity! Just today I found this for Windows NT/2K/XP:
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/diskmon.shtml

There are loads of other useful looking utilities on this site.

ME.  I'm gonna upgrade to XP after SP1 comes out.  Prolly buy a
factory-built 'puta...the first time I've done that it 8 years.

Wow!

Thanks, Tony!  Now all I have to do is spend $3000 for a 'puta/OS upgrade
and I don't have to, erm, bend over anymore!

Now all I have to do is find a wait-state killer.  I see there's a
"nodelay.reg" in C:\Windows\Inf\Qfe\271037; anybody know what this does?

Speaking of .reg files: where does the "layout.reg" file in Tom's
icon-layout util go?

In case anyone can't get that little file from Tom. PCmag.com has the same
kind of utility. It's called Wintidy.
