I just installed GPL to a new system, xp2700+.  After i installed gpl on the
new system i copied GPL from the old system onto the new, i didn't need the
cpu fix before but i do now. When i patched GPL with the cpu fix i lost the
different sounds for each car and the bwpatch. So i reinstalled them both
and all seems fine. Does anyone know if there is a correct order to install
the patches, 1.2 patch, disco patch, cpu fix, carsound, bwpatch on a fresh
install?

Just as you describe, but the CPU fix includes the disco patch & noCD fix so
you don't need to install them at all, and the CPU fix does no harm with
'lesser' CPUs so there's no reason not to install it anyway ;-)
