i've had Gp2 a couple of days and i'll have to say i'm impressed.
Being a fan of Nascar and not caring much for road racing i have to say
GP2 is one great SIM.It seems light years ahead of ICR2.I dont understand
too much about the car settings as far as dampers and some other things
but i'll just have to learn as i go.
I have one question though is it possible to have barrel roll flips?I've
had several cars get airborne and spin arond but never completely roll
over.Is it possible or is it built into the SIM this way?

People on this NG have said they have rolled the car, but I'm not convinced.
I'm not sure the sim engine can handle it - I hit another car's rear wheel
at 320+ km/h and the car went airborne at 45 degrees to the road, and
appeared to be prevented from rolling further. There is a 'ceiling'
above the road so any flip would have to be _very_ low (< 2metres).
The only way you could do this would be to set the car up _totally_
stiff, hit an inside kerb on a fast corner (ie up on two wheels) and
then be hit by another car from the outside (ie knocking the wheels out
from under you). This would be virtually impossible to set up, but
amazing to see!

I don't believe you can roll the car. Today, I was racing at Estoril and
hit another car in the first high speed curve. My car went up in the
air, and rolled ***ly. When my car had rolled about 45 degrees, the
game crashed (page granular). This could be a bug, but I haven't seen
any car roll over, and I have seen quite a lot of crashes!!! ;-o

I've had some truly spectacular shunts, but no flips.  The worst (best) one
was seeing a friend of mine launch his car off of a Jordan's rear wheel
down the front stretch at Hockenheim.  When the car came down, it had
broken in half behind the rollover bar.  The graphics of this were amazing:
initially, we thought he'd collected a car coming up behind him, but when
we replayed it, we discovered it was the back half of his Sauber.

I have had my car break up into two pieces. The rear of the car behind
the roll bar rolled and remained upside down on the road. The***pit
part did not roll :)

Yep I've seen that as well. I also notices that the rear end only flipped
on certain camera angles. If you looked from another angle it went in a
completely different direction. It really narks me when I do a replay where
I've narrowly missed a car that in the process of crashing, only to find
that the second time round I had hit him. Very confusing.

I was racing at Silverstone and I was running in second chasing Hill when
down hangar straight I wsa about 50m behind hill he pull out of Panis's slip
stream and hit him.  the car took to the air and wsa abblitterated whn it
came down.  I had to swerve on to the grass to aviod the rear end of his car.
I loved this as it proves that the computor drivers do make mistakes.  I
have aso noticed that before I updated to 1996 Panis was a *** to overtake
as a back marker he always blocks me, just like real life.  No Panis doesnot
blok me other F1 drivers

You can drive straight through backends. Only the "monocoque" has collision
detection.
