Sound Problems in Monaco Racing Simulation 2

by Owen Hamilto » Mon, 19 Oct 1998 04:00:00

When I run Monaco Racing Simulation 2, the sound is mostly very crackly, and
quiet, only very occasionally (0.1% of the time, if that) does the sound
sound ok.

System is as follows:

Intel Pentium 2 400Mhz.
64Mb Ram
8.4 Gb HD
ATI AGP x2 with 8Mb
STB Blackmagic Vodoo 2 with 12Mb memory
Aureal Vortex 3D Sound Card.

I am sure this is nothing to do with the soundcard or speakers, as the sound
is fine with any other product that I use. Any ideas would be greatly
appreciated. Also, any ideas why the sound editor, is in French when the
texture editor is in English, here in the UK.

Hi,
I had the same problem with the Vortex soundcard. If you go into the Aureal
Vortex Audio settings in Control Panel, select the A3D Settings tab and
place a tick against "Disable Direct Sound Hardware Acceleration", all
should be well.
