I remember that well Marc! I sent in my subscription, but I never got the
girls of NROS swimsuit issue, or the SRN T-shirt. Oh well, just tell me
where to send the money and I will renew for this Christmas.

Seriously, the new site looks great. Keep up the good work!

Hey I always wanted to do that, so here we go ;-)

Back in 1996, I had in my mind a project called the SimRacing Hall-of-Fame.
Hmm yes memories... heh lol, well as the titled said, it was an homage to
each and every of us, people who form the SimRacing community.

I was forming it as a Hall-of-Fame, starting with 5 introductions, and
adding 2people each month by people who would vote.. I even still got a
website for it, but it's on my Hard Disk.  Who knows if someday somebody
will approach me to restart the project. Im full of ideas ;-)

I did an interview with Tony Johns, who just started as a Papyrus employee I
think in January of 97. Im not sure.  I think I should post it someday on
the Internet... It's pretty good.

So this is an open request to anybody who could host me, or form an alliance
for that ;-)

Btw, anybody of you remember the "TOP 15 SIMRACER" Hahahaha, the good old
days. Bring back some good (and bad) memories ;-P

While we're on the subject of nostalgia, whatever happened to that
French GP sim (by Visiware??) that we were anxiously awaiting a couple
of
years ago... I remember being blown away by the screenshots at the time.

Was that PowerF1 by Eidos, by any chance?? (I remember seeing a French
website for it a few years back - the game was sponsered by the tv station
Canal+ , if I remember correctly. Looked pretty good, but I don't think the
final game was all that great compared to the competition at the time. The
Avault has a review (a bit better than the GPL review, I might add)
http://www.avault.com/reviews/power.asp , and the reviewer gave it 2 1/2
stars as well.

That's my guess as to what you were thinking about. The only other one that
comes to mind is "Prost F1"... but from what I hear, that product wasn't
even worth the time of day.

I think the Visiware product eventually turned into the pretty dire
"Prost F1". The problem at the time was lack of a license, and they
got the license they needed through a tie up with Canal+

Yea, I remember that one too. Wasn't it called "Starting Grid" or
something? But that wasn't a couple of years back - one year at most.
But one year in ***space equals seven years in the Real World (TM).
Or were those dog years...? :)

Canal+ Multimedia took them over, and it was released as Prost GP.
