Why are the real Indycars so "slow" at Michigan? The best qualifying
lap was 232 mph. With ICR2 it's easy to get a 240mph lap. Sure I can
select the wheather I want, but are the real cars restriced?

Btw "good" to see the real guys mess up the start, like I'm used to

The 1996 cars have approximately 35% less downforce than the 1995
cars, after which the game was patterned. As well, they ran less boost
this year than in previous years. During practice, however, Adrian
Fernandez ran a few laps at 235+ before qualifying. Oddly enough, Mario
Andretti, who still owns the track record, got it in the older car with
more downforce and boost. Under proper circumstances, the newer cars can
be faster.

Because, for the 2nd straight year, there were running with reduced boost.
Instead of the custom 45 pounds, they ran with 40.

Set your boost down to about five and then try to run a 240 lap.  In
effect, that's what CART did when they restricted boost to 40" at
Michigan.
