F1RC comments - what version?

by Iain Mackenzi » Wed, 21 Mar 2001 16:08:17

I just want to know what version of F1RC are all the comments being made
about.  Is it the demo?  The full retail version?  Has it been released in
the US?  It's not out in the UK until Friday this week, although I know it
has been released in Germany (and Holland, I think).

It's the full version 1.004. Some copies were mistakenly made with older
code which had AI problems. You can get the newer .exe at a number of web
sites and just use it as a patch.

It isn't in the U.S. yet and I would guess it won't be for awhile.

To avoid confusion: I read in the High Gear forums that the version
released with the older code also has version number 1.004.
Besides, even in the 'good' version the AI is too crappy to drive with
unfortunately.

So, how can I tell if I have the older version or not?  What sites carry the
newer exe file?  I'll be buying F1RC when it's released in the UK on Friday.
Ta!

If the AI sucks extremely bad, you have the wrong version.
If the AI sucks really bad, you have the correct version.
Check out the High Gear F1RC forum for links to the exe files:

He's asking about F1RC, not N4.

lmao nice one.  Still, compared to F1RC the AI in N4 is HAL-caliber <G>

Can't say about N4, hasn't been released over here yet.
But Andr is right about the AI in F1RC, it really sucks. I'm feeling like
being at a stock car race.
Hope that Ubisoft will release a patch soon to solve this, and other things.
