It's great. All of us whine and complain, but really it is awesome.
When I first bought N2 I signed up for TEN thinking NROS
was there already. Two year wait. Worth the wait. The better your
internet connection, the less "warping" of cars you will see, but
Ten has done a good job of steadily improving the service. To
test you connection you can go to a Dos prompt and type:
Tracert abyss.net

This will show you the list of hops between yourself and the
most populated NROS arena. If you show more than 14 hops
or hops with latency above 300ms (or timeouts) you might want
to try a different internet provider before signing up with Ten.

2-years?  Please correct me if wrong, but wasn't N2 released 12-96,
and NROS (finally) launched about 10-97?  Do the math.

Cheers!

Marc

Is Ten any good?  before I actually pay for it I was wondering about
opinions here...I know its probably the best place for multiplayer
driving...but is it okay in regards to smoothness and not skipping the
cars and finding yourself in the wall for no apparent reason?  just
wondering...I know I'll get five free trial hours and will use
them...but opinions can help.

thanks

It's good. Not perfect, but what really is? For the price, it's one of
the best deals in ***.

No one can control the Internet, so results may vary, but Nascar2 on TEN
has been pretty solid for me so far. I do see the occasional warps, but
for the most part, i can't complain. And NOTHING comes close to the
feeling of taking a pole or a win in a 20 car field where all the the
cars are driven by real people.

Go for it... you'll be glad you did.
