It's a hardware problem caused by heating, called (i think) thermal drift.
Either your joystick or your joystick controller is getting warm, which increases
the resistance on the potentiometers, thus giving erring values to the program.

Another thing: It also could be tire wear (check rear tire temps) ... or both...
After 30 laps at Long Beach, my steering simply melts off, and I can't race
anymore....
