my friend has also had the same thing happen on his machine.
When I try to run IndyCar, I get the following message:
"Dos/4GW Professional Protected Mode Runtime Version 1.93"
followed by a copyright, and then one of two things happens:
1) The computer locks, or
2) I get the C:> prompt back right away, but IndyCar remains loaded
in conventional memory, taking up some 40k.
Either way, the game doesn't work and I have to reboot.
My system is as follows:
386/25 w/ math coprocessor
8mb RAM w/ 612K free in conventional memory
Dos 6.0 (no compressed drives)
Sound Blaster Pro (and I have tried configuring the game without sound
drivers - no luck)
My friend, who has the same problem, is running a 486sx/25 (or maybe a 33)
with a SB16-compatible card, and I think he has over 600K free, although
he has only 4mb RAM (which is the minimum requirement).
desperate to try this game out. PLEASE!!!!
