Nascar vs. Need for Speed 2 SE

Anyone that has played both...comments/opinions?  Which is better?

Can Nascar (not sure what the latest version is called) be multiplayered
over the internet?  I know NFS2SE isn't...sort of a disappointment.

Does Nascar require DirectX (5.0) ?  My soundcard isn't compatable with
DirectX so I'm out of luck if it is...but might consider upgrading.

Any comments appreciated,

First of all, Nascar 2 and NFS 2 SE are un-commparible, Nascar is a very
realistic simulation... NFS is an arcade racer.

Nascar 2 Can be raced over TEN at up to around 20-30 other drivers
(anyone know he exact #? I don't think NFS has that much multiplayer
power, but could be wrong.

Nascar 2 came out more than a year ago (still the best racing game for
me) sice sims take along time to make, it was in DOS,so no DX5...

I personally like both games, but prefer Nascar 2 over NFS2SE.  The two
products are only similar in that you drive a car in each.  Nascar 2 is a
top grade simulation of stock car racing, while NFS2SE is a good arcade
racing game.

The graphics in NFS2SE are great if you have a Voodoo card, you get to
drive a lot of cool cars, and the tracks are pretty.  However, the computer
cars crashes into you more than they should, and there is a pretty big
"dead zone" on your joystick built into the game.  Overall, I would say an
entertaining arcade racer with a few flaws.

The graphics in Nascar 2 are not as pretty as NFS2SE.  I have read that the
Rendition version on N2 has very good graphics, and that a Voodoo patch is
in the works, but on my system, N2 is not as pretty.  However, the strength
of N2 is the driving.  The computer cars behave realistic, and there are a
lot of settings to help any skill of driver.  N2 does have a bigger
learning curve, but it is worth it.  N2 plays over the internet using TEN.
As far as sound cards, N2 has you choose a sound card from a list on setup,
so I don't think it requires DirectX.

Anyways, thats my thoughts on both products.

Well, Nascar2 doesn't SUCK, so I'd have to go with it. ;-)

Currently no, it's a DOS game - not sure about the upcoming 3Dfx
version though.
