Anyone know what the problem is, or if theres a fix?

I'm in round 13 (Croft) on the "expert" level of a championship and
keep getting disconnected if I attempt to change the car set-up
(freezes on the gear ratio screen?) and after completing the first
sprint race the game freezes again, thus resulting in me being unable
to continue the championship!!!!

Nothing else has changed on my pc since installing the patch
yesterday? And I've never had a problem with the game freezing before
this time?

BTW, I'm using an abit m/b with 128 mb ram with a 300a celeron
(clocked at 450) with an 8mb Matrox g100 and 12Mb V2 card and a SB16
card, also using directx 6.1

Plenty of discussion about umm, episodes of real world "use" that didn't happen
to the beta testers. ;-)  There are some suggestions about how to cope.

patch too! It damn well aint MY job to oversee everything!  I cant play
but 1 race online without the game dumping me back into desktop. You
dont sound too happy about certain things either..

Codemasters patch exists in the same world that saw Rally 99'
delayed...Trans Am 69-72 delayed and then cancelled for the time
being...the GPL patch? where is it?...  its an imperfect world. But I
can tell you this, tonight there was a post on our forum from one of
the Toca2 Team talking about how its possible to make the AI corner
faster (something that they still dont do well enough).

Codemasters takes the weekend off. The patch came out Friday night.
That means there has been no official reply to all the posts and
concerns and complaints and blame.
Tomorrow (Monday) and the following days I think that will change.
Try to keep your underwear dry until then, I pray thee.

No bugs to squash!  A lot of enhancements for internet play, ablility to tweak
AI, and maybe a change to a section of Brands.  Can't comment on internet play,
not my interest, but everyone seems to like this aspect of the patch.  In
single player after a certain point the AI ceases to amuse and needs to show
more speed to make races closer.  Inclusion of AI scripting fiddlement helps
here.  Patch stability issues?  Maybe.  If you're interested, ya might want to
check back in a few days.
