That wasn't directed towards anyone specifically.  I'm trying
to be non-partisan, dammit!

"Nigel Mansell RIP!" is a line I've used under my name in
r.a.s.f1 posts dating back to the summer of 95.  Rest well knowing
that the Great Mustachioed One is still alive and well, if not
winning.

Martin
Nigel Mansell RIP! (figuratively speaking)

If you *had* read the entire post, you would have used what little grey
matter you have and taken the whole thing in context.  Stop bing a putz.

>Yes, I did...but you used the sentence in the present tense, not the
>past tense, leading me to believe you still maintain this belief.

>>says...

>>>>>Not really.  I'm firmly convinced that open-wheel racing is
>>>>>NOT fun (to watch or in which to participate)

>>>>and NASCAR is?!?!?!?!?!

>>>Please!  Let's not start THAT old debate!

>>He obviously didn't bother to read my entire post...

Not me. :) But I understand your position: it's tiresome to have to
read a lot of stuff you're not interested in just to find the few
posts you want. There really is just one feasible way: get a
newsreader that allows killfiling (or if your current newsreader
already allows it, find out how to use it.) Then, make a killfile for:

gpl | grand prix legends | gp legends | gplegends | legends

This should cover 95% of the GPL related material. I use this filter
to *retrieve* just this stuff, but anyway. :)
Or you could go the other way and create a "watch" filter for exactly
the topics you want to read about:

N2, N3, NASCAR, NASCAR2, etc.

Allow for misspellings and the usual abbrevs for maximum performance.

"Forte Agent" and "Gravity" are two popular newsreaders that allow
this.

Live and let live. :) Once you can automatically skip the stuff that
bores you, it will be much less annoying.

BTW, the idea of creating a seperate newsgroup will be voiced, as
always. It is *not* a good idea for several reasons. Believe me. :)
