I think that what is the thing is that it is an easy game to drive around
in, you can jump in and easily turn laps, but people struggle with getting
that last seconds to be competetive with the hotlappers.

That is exactly what I want to continue.  I feel that if the game is too
difficult to even drive arround then that will cause problems in the long run.

This is true, but then again, GPL isn't for the masses.  Honestly, how many
people here could actually name some drivers from '67 besides Clark,
Brabham, and Hulme before they got GPL?  I guarantee you that most of the
people out there buying sims today aren't even old enough to remember or
even know of them (I'm one...my dad was my age the year Clark died, and I'm
15)

Besides, there are a lot of people (myself included) coming out of the
arcades from playing Indy 500, Ridge Racer, Crusin' USA and the like and are
looking for the same action to take home.  Most can't tell you what in the
world a tie rod is or what gear ratios do.  So, of course, GPL isn't for
them.  N3 hopefully will be.

I was under the impression that the sales figures for GPL were
rather good. If your information is correct, just how bad are the sales
for gpl?

I've been following this thread, and for an older driver (51),NAS2 is
a lot easier than gpl. But then agian,it's two completely different
forms of racing. It's was much harder to drive a 1967 F1 than driving a
WC stockcar. There are air dams and rear spoilers to help keep your car
on the track, and  you just can't compare a oval to the difficulty of the
courses they drove in 67.

I very much doubt Papyrus will be throwing their physics model out the
window, regardless of the opinion of anyone.  If Sierra don't like it, I
guess you might find a 2nd easy/arcade physics model as a subset of the
current one, or alternatively, there might be a market for professional
racing simulators - the kind that few if any here could even begin to
afford.

Or a new marketer...

Personally, I'd rather give my money directly to Papyrus anyway...
