I agree it is a shame that all the great things modeled in the sim aren't
spelled out.  Why don't they let us now what is modeled?  They should be
proud of their work.  If it wasn't for the people on these news groups, I'd
never know all the "hidden" stuff that was modeled in any of these racing
sims.  Why do they keep it a secret?

If you spent 4 years building something, would you give the plans away to

Hmm... IMO a spoiler (other than being a post which reveals
information concerning, say, the results of a recent race... <gd&r>)

Sorry, yeah.  A spoiler, usually on the rear of a car, modifies the
airflow in combination with the rest of the body - e.g. it may provide
a re-attachment point for the flow which separated over the rear
screen.  A wing may well interact with the rest of the bodywork, but
is a downforce-producing device in its own right.

At the front of the car you can have an airdam and/or a splitter,
among other things.

Telling your customers how many levels of damage there is ain't much giving
anything away.  I mean, just look at all the client/server information they
are giving.

Eldred,

I run on the highest realism settings (damage on realistic). It appears that
there is a range of angles where you hit the wall and slow down, but do not
receive any damage.  Maybe from 0 degrees to 30 degrees.   I have no idea of
the exact angles, just a guess.
