Nascar 2 questions

by Rob Adl » Wed, 11 Dec 1996 04:00:00

Could someone please advise me on the perfornance of Nascar 2. My
system is P133, 16Mb with Matrox Millenium (2Mb), and I was wondering
how the sim will perform in comparision to Nascar 1, ICR2, and GP2 -
frame rate - wise.
I have heard some rumors(?) concerning problems with the
calibration of the T2, and also probs with the Matrox Millenium and
Nascar 2 combination. Could someone please fill me in on this
problems?
I am very keen on purchasing the sim, but only if my system is
adequate to run it at a reasonable performance - SVGA.
Any comments most welcome, especially from people with similar
system configs to my own. Thanks in advance.

Rob,

I have the exact system configuration and Nascar2.  I don't have much to
complain about.  The frame rate is around 20 fps.  While Nascar1 does run
much faster on my machine, because of the special written Matrox version of
Nascar1, the graphics in Nascar2 are 100% improved.

I also have GP2 and ICR2 on my machine.  The frame rate on N2 is much
better than what I get with GP2, and comparable with ICR2.  Also,  I have
not occured any of the problems that Papyrus warns about for Matrox users.
Just make sure you are running the latest bios for the Millennium (version
2.3 I believe).

Hope this helps you make the decision to buy N2.  I would highly recommend
it.

I am running Nascar 2 on a Pentium 120 with 32 megs of ram and a
Millenium 4 meg video card and the game runs great with everything on
but the grass/asphlat turned off. I also am using a T2. Dave K.
