Just got a T2. Will not stay clamped in one spot, slides across the
table. Tried attaching Velcro strips to clamps and table, sorta works.
Anyone have a good solution to keep from sliding off table at critical
moment?
Thanks,

Maybe your table is too thin, need to put a piece of wood between
clamps and wheel.
Good luck

I found the exact same problem so I bought a small 6mm thick sheet of
glass, stuck four *** feet on the glass, stuck the T2's suckers to the
glass and the whole lots clamps down just great. The weight of the glass
stops the front of the T2 rising and losing suction in those tricky
moments.

sayeth unto thee...
I took off a cover and stuck bolts down through the two holes near the back. I
don't remember how I attached the bolt heads. Welded maybe? Then I drilled
holes in my desk for the bolts to go through. I use wing-nuts to clamp the
whole thing to the table. Never EVER moves at all.

I used some industrial strength velcro strips. Two across the front lip
of my desk and one on the bottom side of the T2 wheel. The suction cups
are of limited use because they don't hold real well on my desk. The
velcro and the clamps seem to do a decent job of holding everything.
I suspect if I really torqued on the wheel, it would move around while
I was driving. But if I was that *** it, I probably would break the
wheel itself. The problem I had was with the pedals. Every time I would
step on the brake, the whole pedal unit would simply flip up & forward.
I had to clamp the whole pedal unit to a piece of plywood to stop this
from happening. Now I only need to move the brake pedal into the empty
slot on the left. The brake and gas pedal are simply too darn close
together. I'm surprised ThrustMaster built it this way. Their other
devices are pretty well designed.
I have a desk with a 1" Formica top so the clamps and suction cups work
real good. When I first
got my T2 I couldn't keep it from sliding across the table. I have to
really crank the clamps down.
If you are using the washers or suction cup are not sticking your going to
have a problem.
You can go to the hardware store and buy to stick on *** bumpers. They
are about 1/4" thick
and are usually square and in a package of four. Put two of them in the
seam under the base of
the unit one each end. And if it don't work you can always take them off.
It worked for me on my other desk.
Hope this helps.

Glenn,
I remember seeing a post here a while back about someone taking a piece of
"gripper" *** - kinda like the stuff you use to open a stuborn jar lid - and
they attached it to the bottom surface of the T2 with contact cement and that
provided some extra grip on their desktop surface. It sounds like it might be
worth a try. Good luck!

Hmm, I've had no trouble with the steering wheel moving on my T2. Sometimes
the clamp loosens a bit and I just tighten it more. No problem. I am using
the thinner of the "washer" spacer thingies.
The problem I had was with the whole pedal unit lifting up when wanting to
apply the brake. Finally deciding I'll never train myself to stamp down
with my right foot when left-foot braking, I found a solution: I move one of
my videotape libraries and set it down on the left corner of the pedal unit.
Plenty of weight to keep it down now!

I did the same thing. I used washers in the unit and under
the desk with wing nuts. Definitely doesn't move now! When you
want to take your T2 off, the keyboard now covers the holes.

I don't know if it would help, but you might want to see what happens
if you put a 2-by-4 flat on the floor between the pedal unit and the
wall. It seems to keep my pedals much more stable, and restricts the
rather extreme limits on the pedal movement, which I prefer- faster
getting on and off.

I have a knitting maching table set up in front of my computer. It is
about three and a haklf feet long and a foot wide. When I set up my T1
wheel on it I loop an old belt under the table and up over the wheel
base. I wedge Wyndham Lewis' "Apes of God" under the belt to take up the
slack.
