First off, you need to have an IPX network. Then run the program with a -n
suffix. i.e. C:\NASCAR\nascar -n

Once you're in, select multi-player game and "IPX" something comes up. You
need to put in the login name of the person you wish to race with. I
recommend running a bare boned config.sys and autoexec.bat file (DOS 6.0
offers custom bootup options) because RAM will be chewed up when you log on
the network.
