Hmmmm, comparing the handling of a Nascar to a F1 car usually doesnt
deserve a response,
but sometimes people must know how absurd they sound.

1. When you finish or back out of race the race records field shows
for ex: Talladega
        Jeff Gordon 19?.??
The Player  19?.?? instead of your name, your name will show up
on the tote board correctly though.

2. In the documentation it refers to a frame rate counter, also on the
demo there was a box you could check to show the frame rate counter, I
can't find it or it is not there.

Other than that really good all around, I wish I could play in dos mode
while connecting to TEN in the future. The framerates are a little
better, but the Ten software runs in windows??

The paintkit is EXCELENT! Dega has a new and improved "tri-oval"  looks
like we'll be able to run 2 wide through there now.

The frame rate counter disappeared in the final release. Not sure why,
other than they were pressed for time and didn't have time to implement a
keyboard toggle.

DEGA is better but the AI seems to be the sam okd shit. On the first lap,
the whole mid field backed off alot everytime we went into turn three.
BULLSHIT to that I say! Also the car still handles with that same jerky
lame responsing motion from teh steering wheel. I assuem the faster teh
CPU, the more responsive the steering. I must say that Papyrus has not come
close to the type of control you get with GP2.

Thank God they haven't!  The control in GP2 is quite disappointing- the
car automatically jams on the brakes when you enter the pits, so you
can't speed...All car makes handle the exact same way...The cartoony
dash board shows all your arcade settings on it, doesn't look much like
a real***pit...Those "canned" 180 degree spins...and how about that
"slomo" effect that kicks in when you get airborne!  Also, what's up
with GP2 having cars from the '94 season?  Gee, that's about when I quit
playing World Circuit.

Eric, 2 thinks you might check that are causing the jerkyness
problem. One is related to the frame rates. I noticed the same thing when
I first played it then realized I forgot to config the univbe driver
and presto the frame rate jumped way up and it smoothed my steering
significantly. Also if you are using your old nascar1 setup it will need
re-tweaking for optimal control. My new setup is totally different from
my Nascar1 setting and it handles much smoother than my old setting did
in Nas2.

None of the things you mention have any effect on the actual main driving
model used when racing. I haven't got N2 yet - still not released in the
UK :((, so I can't compare them, but GP2 offers _great_ control when
driving, far in advance of N1 or ICR2.

Cheers,
Richard

Congratulations.

You are this week's winner of "Post containing most propaganda and
downright incorrect disinformation". Your prize is to play GP2 for two
weeks and find out exactly how wrong you are.

Your name is "Aw C,Mon", so why not do just that? N2 is out, but that
doesn't mean we need to start the same tired ond "<new program> is much
better than <old program>". It's SO tedious.

Cheers!
John
