Hi Goy,

I know what a huge Larry Perkins fan you are, so you probably already know
that this weekends Sandown V8 races will be Larry's last.
He is finally tossing it in and concentrating on his tractor collection.
Just thought i would let you know, in case you hadn't heard.

Cheers,
Ron

What, who where ????

Noooo, I thought he'd race forever

Thx for the heads up, I don't follow it as closely as I used to, the
total lack of TV coverage here makes it hard to follow, I even visited
his site not too long ago and didn't see anything about this

Oh well, he IS getting a bit old :-), but at least he finished his
driving career with some honor instead of staying on until he was too
old and ran at the tail end of the field all the time

He's not shutting down the racing shop as well is he ?

Beers and cheers

Perkins may still race at Bathurst next year though according to an
interview at v8supercars.com.
He'll announce the driver lineup for next year before Xmas

Goy has a video of the first part of the 94 Bathurst.(rainy)  Good
footage but the scary thing, almost EVERYONE but BROCK is still racing V8's
in Oz.  Turned on the stuff from this past season on Speed Channel and they
are all there still.

Larry will continue running both cars in the 2003 series with Steven
Richards and Paul Dumbrell the expected drivers. He is also prepping his 16
year old son Jack for a future career in the mighty Castrol Commodore once
he has finished his schooling...lucky bastard !!
Cheers Phil

Seems your question has been answered Goy :))
Sorry i didn't reply sooner, but i just got home from a hard day in the
Salt mine...
Like Phil said, just because Larry isn't driving, doesn't mean he won't be
involved somewhere in Ozzie V8 racing...
Anyway, hope you have been keeping well Goy,  been a while since i emerged
out of lurk mode and actually posted on RAS... :)

Take care,
Ron.

Yup, sure did, I didn't think he'd actually retire the team as well, but
this line in your original post scared the ***out of me..."He is
finally tossing it in and concentrating on his tractor collection" :-)

Yes I've been keeping well, <enter PR mode> read the results from the
latest BR1000 and see just how well :-))) <exit PR mode>, always good to
hear from you Ron, don't be a stranger

Ron.

Could you attempt to connect to the GPVL/GMSS news server with that
antiquated software you're using sir? I ended up dropping Exchange and going
back to the default software and want to know if you can still can't
connect. Fire me an email if you need the addy.
