The Allgames Network had an interview with a Ubi Soft producer.  He said March is
the expected release of F1RS in the US.  As stated belowin other replies, the main
reason is to include all the patches etc that have been distributed so far.(plus
Papa Doc, we'll probably get US Stars and Bars added)
I'd like to thank all the Euro beta testers who have helped get the game ready for
it's US release.  thanks

Actually I think the Beta testers for Ubisoft F1RS are in Montral, Qubec.

We had about 2 TV shows about the Testers who worked at UbiSoft in Montral
and they were all testing F1RS. About 20 people. :-)  . If anyone is
interested they are searching for people. 20000$ CAN per year to play games
and find bugs. And you have the chance of going higher into "Game designer"
and you never know, have the chance to work for Papyrus one day !!!

says...

It may interest you to know that it also includes the real ***
sponsors which cannot be included in a US version because of laws to
"protect" the children.

The US version will not have *** adds? Are you joking with that?
If true how can that then sell a OK version which contains the adds?
It sounds illeagle.

Sheesh! What I really meant was:

If this is true, how can they sell the UK version which contains the
adds?

Sorry :-)

All I know is that it is illegal to include *** and tobacco ads on
"toys" here in the US. All models and sims (ICR, ICR2, NASCAR, NASCAR2,
etc) cannot include them as they are considered "toys." I'm not a lawyer,
so I don't know the details of the law, I just know that it sucks when
trying to buy models, etc.

I reckon the local beer companies would be a little pissed (hehehe -
in Aus/UK, pissed means drunk) off at all the free and very good
advertising Foster's would get. Oh well, it's the American beer
drinker's loss, hehehehehe.

Well, looks like all this is moot, since the 'adverts' editor
is on the horizon...kind of nice, it was like GP2 was a test for all
these programmer-sim-driver types, F1RS seems to have gotten the stuff
done sooner.

Now if there was a track editor, and I borrowed my brother's
camcorder, and did a few laps in downtown DC...anybody up for a GP
track in Washington, DC??

I figure we can have drive-by shootings in the pit lane ;)

Getting back to the original topic, EB shows a 3/1 release date for US F1RS.
I'll believe it when I see it.

Straight from the horse's mouth...

The Ubi-guy with the gold has just returned from France with the
master for the US-version...He said the release date is March 16.  =)

Cheers!
