I am using the 1992 Ferrari Grand Prix simulator on a Mac
(Bullseye software, Donald Hill author). I was interested in finding
other people to discuss/chat/compare with about this program.

I'd like to here a review of this game. Most mac games suck (IMHO) but
this one has been around for a long time. Could you post a
description? How many circuits does it have? Does it support 256 color?

I haven't seen this specific game, but as a primarily Mac-oriented
computer user,
I have to say that so far there has been little in terms of simulations
that was usful on a Mac - for many reasons. The graphics usually had to be
640x480, requiring some hefty processing power to animate that. Texture
mapping is also more efficient on the PC (don't know why, but that's what
I
was told.

All this is gonna change - maybe - with the PowerMacs, which definitely
have the power to run such games full screen. The question is if anybody
is
going to develop for this platform, which tradionally has been avoided
by the people who brought us F1GP, ICR, Falcon 3.0 etc. there are some
cool
games on the mac, but htey are generally not simulations, but more network
based. A six player spectre shootout can be a lot more fun that lots of
single player simulations with crappy AI opponents.

By the way, get ICR if you like F1GP. you are missing out on a game that
is far better than the now aging F1GP. since I got ICR two motnhs ago, I
haven't touched F1GP anymore, although for the 12 months before that
I thought it was the greatest game ever...

I am looking for any kind of driving (car/truck/scooter) simulator
that I can use in a research project on drowziness. I need the source
or the author's name in order to obtain permission for use ( I need to
add hooks into my data acquisition routines and would like to control
some events). The quality of play is not critical ( I want boring!). I
can run on PC, Atari ST or MacPlus. Can anyone help? Thanks !
