Ferrari and simulators... :-(

After the Schumacher-Barrichello incident at the and of the
final lap in Austria, I am going to leave my (sim-) Ferraris
(well, a real one I couldn't have..., neither will any more..)

In GPL I used to drive Ferrari, also so in F1 2001, and the ALMS mod.
Any suggestions for replacements?

In the GPL Lotus is too obvious, Honda is too heavy, BRM and Cooper
are so weak. Eagle or Brabham perhaps?

In F1 2001 perhaps Williams? In ALMS BMW would be nice, but the
wheel covers part of the dash... Porshe sounds Volkswagen (="Beetle"?), ..

It will take some time Ferrari to recover in my eyes. But probably
they are not very interested in that, anyhow... ;-)

The eagle with the yellow skin is a pretty obvious chice isn't it? ;-)

As for the Alms, I'd actually want to grab a supra from another mod, and
rice it + use the maranello physics. (too much FnF here, LOL)

F1-2001: For myself I will go for the Arrows, since the Jordan is so
uglified since last year. I like the looks of the Jag, but I cannot make it
drive...

Just my opinion, but to me the Williams, McLaren, and Ferrari are the
Eagle, Lotus and, er.. Ferrari of F1 2001, if you get my drift...

Okay not just my opinion.  I picked around in the physics files for F1
2001 and looked at things like power to weight ratio, lift and drag and
so forth.  The above three are clearly gifted with better performance
than the others.  The Jordan is in the middle of the pack, the Arrows
towards the rear, and the Benetton and Minardi are the back markers.

OTOH performance isn't everything when we are talking about a game,
sometimes it is fun just to drive your favorite car.

<snip>

I drive the Ferrari most in GPL as well, but I'm going to stick with
it. After all, this is 1967 - no Brawn, Todt etc; Enzo still runs the
place...
