I didn't mind him until he sponsored a really bad racing game. ;-)

% That by itself makes buying N3 more attractive.  Try taking a Taurus
% through Masta Kink flat out.  Still, independent physics models for
% each wheel, etc., would have been awfully nice.  GPL still is king,
% even if only 40K of us bought it.  Bet N3 sells >500K easily,
% regardless of its apparently old tweaked physics model.

Maybe if Papyrus assured us that they are working on a CART (or even a
NASCAR) sim that will use GPL based physics, more of us would buy N3 as
a "downpayment" for a future sim.  It's kinda hard to keep us on the
farm now that we have tasted a "real" sim. <G>

Well said Michael.  This is the exact reason why I'll probably buy
Motorsims' AMA Superbike even though I'm not really into motorcycles.
The promise of their upcoming Can-Am title (especially with the "retro
pack") is just too apealing for me not to support the company.

Yes, exactly, I'm waiting a few weeks to hear what the verdict is on N3
after the initial hubbub before buying, especially I hope to hear what
other GPL/Online ***s think of it in the long run. It may be worth
purchasing if the online racing is really good, but it will be hard to
go back to driving a physics model where you just dive into the corner
hammer the brakes until you slow then hammer the throttle without having
to worry about lockup or balance (at least that's how I drove N2)

Another thing that will make me go out and buy it is if The Pits puts out
a good Touring Car Patch for N3, an online Touring Car series would be a blast.

Then again, I would also be willing to purchase N3 merely to help "fund"
Papyrus if I knew that it would help to bring another GPL physics openwheel sim
be it CART or F1 or 1970's F1 or Can-Am etc.

Let's hope there's some plans there, but that they are just keeping quiet :-)

Seeyas on the track.

OOPS! did I say "Openwheel" , actually I don't *need* openwheel.

I think any driving sim with GPL's physics model would be great, be it
Nascar 4, Can-Am, Touring Car, Rally, Riding Lawnmower Racing Legends etc.

Guys I think that the GPL physics model would only apply to NASCAR tracks like
Martinsville, the road courses, and possibly tracks like New Hampshire. You still
have to be smooth on NASCAR2 to be fast and you don't use the brakes that much on
tracks like C***te, Michigan, Cali, etc.

Granted I think the cars need to be a little looser but really it is close to the
real thing.

The only problem with NASCAR 2 is that you probably need a little more rear brake
bias, so the car will "sit" in the middle of the turn.

I have driven late models and you can drive the car really deep in the turns, nail
the brakes, and nail the gas if you have it setup right.

Just my opinion.
