Hi all
I got Network Q RAC Rally at the weekend and whilst I think
it is pretty cool, it keeps crashing.  the game will appear to go
for the Hard Disk and then just freeze, although II keep saving
its still annoying to doo a 20 minute raly and then have it
crash?  Any suggestions?  I have a 4mb 486sx with SB compat
card, and I am giving the game as much memory as posssible.

I had the same problem, as did some others (the other four people in
the world that bought the gsam :)  I had to save my rally after each stage,
and if I tried to do more than three stages in a row, it would crash.
Perhaps it's a built in feature to prevent me from geeking out in front
of the computer for hours at a time, like I do with ICR and WC.

I don't think there is a patch.  I think you just have to live with
it.

Hmmm... maybe I'll load up the game again, just to hear the co-driver
shout "NOOOooooooo!" one more time as I barrel roll down the road.

I also have a 486sx25 with 4Mb and it would crash even using a boot disk.
The only way I was able to get enough free base memory was to run QEMM.
It doesn't crash at all now (although I still do!). There is also a
patch available that doubles the joystick range and makes it more
controllable.
Now if I would just get an overdrive chip and a T1, I'd be set!

Would anyone know the location of the mentioned patch?

I have a similar problem - it lets me play for about 3 stages, then chucks
me back to dos saying something like not enough memory for rally. I have a
486sx/33 4Meg memory SB compatable card.

Going by the other posts I've seen, most of us have problems - anyone know
of a patch??

[snip]

This may help, when I got a sb, it started crashing, no probs until then,
I did find that launching with 'ral m' to kill menu music helped,it
usualy cured the probs.
The final cure was when I upped my memory to 8Mb. I didn't get any error
messages at any time, just a hang.

Hope this helps.
Mark.

Got to agree here, but it may be the worst but it is still
extremely good fun!  OK so the car goes where it wants but you
can get a good buzz when you slide round a corner 40 miles faster
that you can normally take them for no apparent reason.  Also
the sound if perfect complete with co-dirver shouting instructions

I have to agree no that one with you. Since this is the only rally sim
I know of today, we cannot really judge the game I guess.
Speak up if I'm wrong. :)

Someone mentioned a patch to make the joystick less twitchy.
Where can I find this?
