This track annoys the hell out of me !!!  =)   Has anyone else notice
that if you even start to slide a bit its like you are on ice ??  If I
get touched even a hair going into the corner... im gone, no saving it.
The problem on this track is if you spin... you have a better than 50%
chance of getting lapped (even if you are running up front).  I can run
good times on this track and keep up in the top 10 at 100%... but I
always end up getting spun by an over zealous lapped car.  Steve Parks
#3 seems to be my most annoying opponent =)  I swear he has put me into
a spin at least 3 times in my current race. (Saved with 75 laps to go
running 7th... last car on the lead lap).  My rear end is all bent up
but theres no way in hell you can let your pit crew fix the damage
without losing laps. As long as I dont have wheel damage and can see
over the hood.... no damn repairs for me!! ;)

Im already running full spoiler and have reduced tire pressure 1lb all
the way around since the race started to try and improve grip.  If I
keep adding wedge Im gonna be pushing so bad I might not make any turns
=)

I'am the same way!  If the wheels are not out of shape, I'am still
driving!  I ran a BGN race at Nashville, and was running in 4th ahead
of Jimmy Spencer.  Well... I got a little impatient trying to get by
him, and I went into turn 3 with too much speed and tapped him into
the wall (thank God this is only a game! :)).  Anyway, I smashed in
the front end of my car, the damage was noticable, but the hood was
not crumpled.  The strange thing was the car seemed drive a bit better
after I got the damage (anyone else ever notice this happening???), I
had a great battle with the 3rd place car and got 2nd.  With five laps
to go I was catching the leader T. Labonte.  With only two laps left,
I knew I had to make my move! (all or nothing time!)  I drove hard
into turn 3 and collected T. Labonte, he went to the outside wall,
while I spun to the inside, I mamaged to save my car from hitting the
wall, (but not before the 2nd and 3rd place cars passed me!).  Oh
well, at lwast I tried!

Later,
John

Uh guys, that's what Hickory is REALLY like.  Papy modelled it famously.  You
dance on icein the corners, and get lapped quick if you make a mistake -- 1/3
of a mile boys.

Enjoy it, its what racing is all about. Not ***dega.

Yyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeesssssssss!!!!   I *LOVE* this reply!  Try Nashville also.
30-year-old pavement that *absolutely* eats tires alive.  I'm planning on
putting together an *Internet* All-American 400 at Nashville; let's see who's
got he cahonas to show up...!

And as for Hickory, and the rest of the new short tracks (IRP, South Boston,
Myrtle Beach) are greta also.  We raced All-Pro at each of these (except IRP),
and Papyrus did a FANTASTIC job!

I had the pleasure to do the photos, cam corder, and measurement work for the Hickory and Myrtle
Beach for the BGN pack.  After driving and taking photos for hours on both of these tracks, I can
say that they about put every darn thing there is at the track.  They wanted me to shoot pictures
of cracks in the asphalt!!! crash marks in the wall...etc.

They also take into the time of day and wanted me to do the pictures on a sunny day at the same
time the race is being run so they could get the lighting as close as possible.  I think the
detail and extra time they put into their sims is what sets them apart from the others.  It was so
neat to get to run a track on the computer that I got to drive on in real life and find out just
how close these tracks are to their real counterparts.

I couldn't agree more.  Dega is for people who can't manage the skill
to turn.
Also, I love 4 wide at South Boston and also M Beach.
The shorter/more traffic the better!!!
