Logitech Red Momo Power Requirements

by pdot.. » Sun, 21 Jan 2007 07:10:50

A friend asked me to check out his Red Momo to see if it still works.
It's a FF model with gold lightning bolts.  I've never seen a wheel
like this before - it's kind of cool.  The pedals were left on a
ba***t floor that subsequenly flooded.  According to his description
the pedals were leaning up against a wall, so only the front inch or so
of the pedal base was submerged.  I don't think that should have hurt
anything.

Anyway, he has either lost or misplaced the power adapter.  There are
no power requirements on the wheel itself.

Does anyone have one of these wheels?  If so, could you check the power
inputs listed on the AC wall adapter?

Thanks,
Pat Dotson

BTW, this is the Momo Force model with a black leather wrapped steering
wheel and a red housing.  It's not the Wingman with the red wheel.

Mine says..

Class 2 Transformer
Model: 57DT-20-1500

Take 2...  I also have a Black MOMO FF with a red metal "centre" to indicate
when the wheel is pointing straight.  The shifter and FF housing is black.

The PS details are:

INPUT:  AC100-120V ~ 0.4A  50-60HZ
OUTPUT:  24V = = = 0.75A

Hope that helps

Cool wheel indeed, though the pedals suck like all the pre-G25 ones.  Don't
have one myself, but...

Also, if its any help, the transformer from the first generation
Wingman Forumula Force (cable driven w/red wheel) is interchangable.
They are the same output.

Mine says:

Model: GAD-SHE240A8
P/N: 190058-2002
Input: 200-240V ~ 0.25A  50/60Hz
Output: 24V --- 0.75A
For I.T.E. use only
Date Code 0131

This message the help page posted by Steve

Mine was purchased in Europe, maybe that is of influence on the voltage? It is
the Momo wheel with red housing, gold lightning bold stickers, leather wheel.

Same here. The 20V 1,5 A must be wrong. It's positive in the center and
remember you can use an adapter that is rated more than 0,75A. You must make
sure it's 24V and the correct polarity on the plug. 20V would probably work
ok with weaker FF as the only downside. Probably.... :)

Not Quite :)

General Information
Power Supply Information

Over the past years Logitech has used two different power supplies on the
force feedback products. Here are some details:

Power Supply Output: 24V, 750mA, center positive

  a.. GT Force

  b.. WingMan Formula Force GP

  c.. MOMO Racing

  d.. MOMO Force

  e.. Driving Force

  f.. Driving Force Pro

  g.. Speed Force

  h.. WingMan Force 3D

  i.. WingMan Strike Force 3D

  j.. Flight Force

Power Supply Output: 20V, 1.5A, center positive

  a.. WingMan Formula Force

  b.. WingMan Force

20V * 1.5A = 30W
24V * 0.75A = 18W

So the American one can consume more power without blowing the supply.

Interesting.

I have the original Formula Force and red MOMO sitting here.
The power supplies have different part numbers, but they are both
20v/1.5A

One is part number 9830, the other is 9901.
