Did you reinstall GPL off the CD, or just copy the Sierra/GPL folder to
the fresh hard disk?  When you install the game off CD, it adds two
services to the OS, and this won't happen if you just copy the
Sierra/GPL folder.

just wondering,did u back up to a CD,if u did u might find all the files
are now read only and certain data wont be able to be updated in there
current state.
