GPL re-install

Easiest way to update the GFX, is to go find the "new" GPL demo {GPL 2003
demo I believe it was called} that was put out within a couple years ago, or
to install all the GPLEA updates for cars, tracks and all that.  I have done
a combination of both of those, after all, I did it in increments "at the
time." so hopefully others will post info.  Also download and install the 2
mods, one was the 1966 cars series mod, the other is the 69 mod.  Seems I
got the info from a site, like Speedgeezers or something.  Might also look
RaceSimCentrals forums, under GPL.

What I recall from the demo I did, have some patience it was rather a year
ago that I did it, was to install the demo to anywhere except where your
full game install is, then copy the cars folder and um, hmm a couple other
folders & things into your golden GPL directory...   I have the file
somewhere of the steps & files you want, maybe I can find it and post
sometime today ot this evening or tomarrow...

GPL re-install

AhA!!!  The demo is actually called 2004 demo BTW...

in the FAQ, that was included with the demo...  this is written...
"

IMPORTANT:  The GPL 2004 Demo already includes all official patches, so you
should disregard any referrals to this in the FAQ unless you are installing
GPL from scratch.
a.. Tips. You can use the GPL 2004 Demo to update a new install of Grand
Prix Legends. Just copy all files in the "Demo" folder over your new
installation. NOTE. If can't get GPL to run in Championship mode. Copy  the
67season.ini & GP.INI from the "Seasons" folder located on the CD.

Computer asks for the CD or says that it's an invalid CD when trying to
install or run GPL even though it's in the CD drive.
1- Make sure that the v.1.2.0.1, D3D and fast CPU fix patches are applied
properly.
2- If you have more than one CD drive, try all of them.
3- You get the invalid CD error usually when having more than one CD-ROM
drive. It is important, you install GPL from your first CD-ROM and the drive
letter follows immediately after your last harddisk partition. Example: You
have two harddisks, C: and D:. Then GPL must be installed from CD-ROM (or
CD-RW?) E:
4- If you have 2 cd/dvd units try disconnecting or disabling one of them
while you install gpl.

As of 2003 October, Magnus Thome has put together an "All-in-one-Papyrus
patch" which simplifies the patching and setup of GPL. This patches GPL to
v.1.2.0.2, including the fast CPU patch. The carsound patch and other
utilities can be added after if you like.
