Thats for sure!  Nothing like hurtling down the Blanchmont in Spa at
300kph with about 300m visibility and the faint redish glow of the
brake light ahead just hoping that no disabled car is creeping along.
Or smashing through Eau Rough, flat out with the sparks of several
cars burning through the fog.  The race track turns into a completely
different place from when it is bright and sunny.

I've been doing a complete run through of all the tracks at Amateur
level 100% length with only a few pauses and reloads.  I probably suck
as a race driver, since I haven't won a single race yet,  (except the
time where I reloaded until I won)  but somehow that doesn't seem to
matter.  Just the rush of racing, whether its for 20th, 10th or 1st
place.  And the endurance of 90 minutes or more is a challenge that is
my kind of entertainment.  Also, it seems that weather changes are
more gradual in a full race and must be compressed somewhat in a
shorter race.

Vortexes would be great too.  Would like to see some more lights in
fog and rain conditions.  Reflections off a wet road surface would
really create an atmosphere.

Have you seen TOCA Touring Car running on a 3Dfx.  That has some really
great reflections in the wet.  Excellent game, but slightly on the
Arcade side.
Hopefully TOCA 2 will be a full on simulation.

Try the demo if you haven't already (http://www.codemasters.com)

Regards

Andrew

(snip)
slightly on the Arcade side.
(unsnip)

"Slightly"?!!!    That's like saying that Hiroshima was slightly
damaged!

Yes, I've tried it a few months ago and it did model wet weather
graphics quite well, although the overall graphics are not as detailed
and pleasing as F1RS is IMO.  Also I would say that the driving model
is extremely arcade like (at least compared to F1RS).  I had hoped for
more.  Like you say, maybe next time.

The most dissapointing about toca for me was that on a soaking wet
tracks you can see as far as in sunny conditions. If I look at an avi
from F1rs it's really with spray and everything.

Does F1rs have an option to practise on a wet track (alone) ??

Yes you can do a session of any type in the rain, or any other weather
conditions except snow :-)
