This isn't good news Dave... I couldn't settle for this right now, as much
as I love GTR 2002. It may also portend of problems in other games or apps.
I'd like to find out more about this.
Thanks!

That was until i was insultedly told that the ONLY reason that happens is if
Nvidia remnants are about.
I knew i had manually cleared all there was and Detonator Destroyer didnt
work on XP so i thought that couldnt be true.
Then i installed Reg Cleaner, ran it for the first time using nearly all its
functions and would you believe there were in fact 2 Nvidia entries from the
Registry it found.
Deleted them, rebooted, removed the Ati drivers and started again then fired
up GTR 2002 then F1 2002....no holes in the car as before,no polygons
missing from the tyres as before and no tears as i drove around the tracks.
Also visited a friend last week who bought a 9700 Pro the day previous and
he has had no problems at all with it but he is with Win Me and Detonator
Destroyer worked perfectly.
Good luck

Could you post more details on the full field fps? Was that start of race
back of the pack or somewhere else? I run GTR 2002 full field, default
graphics, 18 cars visible (no need to see more than this IMO),
1280x1024x32-bit, no-fsaa and mid-pack I get 30 fps at Spa at the start and
40+ around the track. This with an AMD 1600/512MB Ram/GF4 Ti 4400. I'm
surprised a 2400+/9700 Pro combo can't hit 50 fps at the start. How is it
around the track? It certainly must hit 80 or so when things thin out,
correct?

Going from memory, one of the PC COmputer magazines has it...try
pcmag.com or cnet.com...

Don't have any messed up textures with my 9700pro. Running 1024x768x32 all
graphics maxed with 4xfsaa and 16x anios and all is smooth. (Never have
owned an nvidia card so probably registry reminants is causing it.)
